Biography

Laura J. Genovich was appointed to serve as a panel Chapter 7 bankruptcy trustee in 2011. Her appointment follows several years of experience representing Chapter 7 trustees, creditors, and debtors in bankruptcy cases.  She also serves as a Chapter 12 (farm and family fisherman) trustee for the entire Western District of Michigan. Ms. Genovich graduated summa cum laude from Ohio University and Thomas M. Cooley Law School.  Ms. Genovich is also an attorney who practices bankruptcy and municipal law at Foster, Swift, Collins & Smith, P.C. in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She frequently writes and speaks about bankruptcy law issues and has created a bankruptcy law blog and she currently serves as the Chairperson of the Steering Committee for the Federal Bar Association Bankruptcy Section (Western District of Michigan). Learn more about Laura.
